Will The Asteroid, Apophis, Collide With Earth in 2036?

The Science About Apophis
On June 19, 2004, scientists discovered an asteroid which they chose to name “Apophis.” Apophis was the Greek god of darkness and chaos and the adversary of the sun.

On April 13, 2029, the orbit of Apophis will come within 18,300 miles of Earth.

When we consider the diameter of Earth at the equator is 7,926 miles, an object coming within 18,300 miles of Earth is a close call. The good news is Apophis won’t get close enough to Earth to actually hit it—at least not in 2029.

The possibility of a direct hit does emerge again, however, exactly seven years later, and this time there will be greater cause for concern for those of us who call this planet our home. On April 13, 2036, Apophis is scheduled to return, and on this go-round the asteroid will pay Earth a much closer visit than before.

An article published on February 4, 2011 on the Website Space.com tells us:
"Now, reports out of Russia say that scientists there estimate Apophis will collide with Earth on April 13, 2036. These reports conflict on the probability of such a doomsday event, but the question remains: How scared should we be?"

My Comments About Apophis
I first heard about the asteroid, Apophis, a year or two ago, and the moment I heard about it I felt there was a good possibility Apophis one day would collide either with Earth or the moon. In fact, if scientists in 2029 do as the above Space.com article suggests they might do, and NASA runs “a spacecraft into the hurtling rock” to divert Apophis from colliding with Earth, this action may inadvertently realign Apophis to hit the moon in 2036.

While considering this possibility, I recalled a prophecy told to me some time ago by my brother, Chief Standing Elk/Golden Light Eagle, Tribal Chief of the Yankton Dakota Tribe. He had said to me that when he was much younger, he had heard a prophecy from an Elder which said, "The moon would give birth to twins.” Standing Elk/Golden Light Eagle gave me his interpretation of this prophecy, saying the moon would be hit by an asteroid or comet and the impact would crack the moon in two. When he said this to me, I pictured in my mind’s eye the moon so severely fragmented that rocks and debris from this collision were crashing down onto Earth for several days.

With all of this stirring at the forefront of my mind, I decided to phone Standing Elk/Golden Light Eagle yesterday (February 7, 2011) to tell him what the Russian scientists had predicted—that an asteroid would collide with Earth.

He asked me, "Did they say what year?"

I answered, "Yes. They said the year would be 2036."

With his voice raised in excitement, he told me, "I announced that year—2036—at the Prophets Conference in Los Angeles on March 8, 1997. There also was a total eclipse of the sun on that date which we could see from Los Angeles.”

He said, "I told them at the Conference we were all here to give prophecy, so I would give them a prophecy, and then they could do whatever they wanted with it. I said to them, ‘There's a fiery rain coming from the sky in 2036. It will affect the flesh of man.’”

Then he said to me, “Tell them that Standing Elk predicted this. We will see it happen in 2036, if any of us are still alive by then."

When I heard all of this, I became quiet. He had just said to me, “Tell them,” and I thought, “Tell whom?” I then realized he wanted me to write about this. He wanted me to help get the word out. Once I understood what he wanted, I felt the whole conversation taking on a new dimension. In the way Native Americans would describe it, the conversation had become “spirit led.”

I needed to respond to him, so I focused on what it was I was sensing and feeling and said straight out to him, “I don’t feel this asteroid will hit Earth. I feel it will hit the moon. The debris from the collision will produce the ‘fiery rain’ you predicted.”

He said, “If that happens, we’re goners. The moon has a very powerful force over the earth. The tides would be affected and….”

I interrupted him. I felt he was taking this in the wrong direction. He wasn’t seeing the whole picture, and it was up to me to provide the missing piece.

I said, “No. If this happens, the moon would be gone. The moon exerts the force which causes Earth to spin on its axis, so with the moon gone, Earth would upright itself. Earth would stop spinning on its axis. It would spin straight up and down, in correct alignment with the sun.”

“Because Earth spinning on its axis has been the cause of the seasons,” I continued, “there would be no more seasons. No summer, no winter. Just one consistent temperature wherever you were, all the time, every day, 12 months a year.”

His response touched me in a way that told me he could see the whole picture now too.

He responded with one word. He said, “Eden.”

The State of War
More U.S. troops are going to Afghanistan, but what most Americans don't realize is the real war will be fought in Pakistan, not in Afghanistan, and it will be fought in Pakistan by American mercenaries, soldiers-for-hire contracted to kill.

Let's go back about a year ago to December 17, 2008 when I posted an article on my Future News Blog titled: "In 2008, Tensions in the Region of India, Pakistan and Afghanistan Point to a Future News Prediction Made in 2004—and to Prophecy Rock"

In that article I said, "We now have the opportunity to mutually raise our consciousness and awaken. This window in time is our last chance. ...We have arrived at a powerful decision point for humanity and the Earth. In this brief window in time, we have the opportunity to awaken and acquire spiritual understanding—to return to the natural path. Prophecy Rock tells us that if we do this, we will enjoy happiness and everlasting life. I also said in that 2008 article that I had hoped the Obama Administration would work to help "infuse the energy of peace" into the region of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ten months later, on October 9, 2009, there was a hopeful sign when the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced Barack Obama as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee gave as the reason for awarding him the Peace Prize Obama's "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons."

But the Hopi Elders I had visited earlier in the year, in January and again in April 2009, had a different point of view. Every one of them predicted Barack Obama would "bring us into a war." As one Hopi Elder put it, "We like Obama, but he will be forced into it."

It looks like Obama has indeed been forced into it. He has decided to send an additional 30,000 American troops into Afghanistan, and we now have the war my Hopi friends predicted.

For those who wish to take the time to get a clearer understanding (without the usual media whitewashing) of what the U.S is really doing in Afghanistan and Pakistan, below is a video link to a revealing interview (done on December 3, 2009) between Rachel Maddow of MSNBC and Jeremy Scahill, a reporter for the magazine, The Nation. In this video (the interview starts after a short, 14-second ad), there is first a discussion between Maddow and Scahill about Erik Prince, the CEO and Chairman of Blackwater. Blackwater is one of the American mercenary armies already fighting in Pakistan. Jeremy Scahill then speaks openly about how this war will be fought and the potential danger for U.S. tactics to destabilize Pakistan and the region. Scahill says, "I think we need to view this sober reality. The war is in Pakistan right now. There's no question about it. The question though is how much it's going to expand. ...These actions are going to destabilize Pakistan."

I know none of us like to look at the face of war. Most of us are sick and tired of it. But this war is a reality, and the experts who keep a watchful eye on Pakistan tell us the current government in Pakistan is weak and fragile and could fall at any time; and because Pakistan possesses an estimated 50 to 60 nuclear warheads—yes, that's right, 50 to 60—this war has the potential of eventually leading the region of Afghanistan, Pakistan and even India into something far greater—a nuclear war.

It's a dangerous course we have set.

The human condition has kept us in the illusion of darkness and has perpetuated our separation from the energy of spirit. In spite of the very best intentions of people of good will, we continue to resort to violence and war to solve our problems.

The State of Enlightenment
Violence and war will never result in a lasting solution.

Chief Golden Eagle, Tribal Chief of the Yankton Dakota Sioux, once said these words to me about war. "There is so much more than war. War has always been an illusion created by the international banking industry. Let evil destroy evil. Concentrate and focus on your mission and sacred responsibility. Concentrate on the beautiful prophecies that have yet to be fulfilled. So much beauty that you stand for and honor as a sacred light being."

Mother Earth wants to provide for us. We are her children. Knowing how to receive that which Mother Earth wants to give us begins with knowing how to transform the energy of spirit into physical reality! This is an advanced human ability which we have forgotten, but which is readily accessible to each of us now. In this window in time that has opened for us, we are destined to remember how to use this ability. This ability lies dormant within each of us.

For many years I have held a vision of a new world, a world which inevitably must come because this is the destiny of our generation. My vision is that of a paradise we collectively create here on Mother Earth. To make this paradise a reality, we must stop all wars forever.

I see the solution clearly, and so I offer it to you now.

I put this call out to lightworkers. We are the bridge people, showing the way out of the old world and into the new world. We have come to create the New Humanity on the New Earth. As lightworkers, we are empowered to shed light in the darkness. As lightworkers, we are given the ability to spread the word of spiritual understanding. As lightworkers, we now have this window in time in which to accomplish these things.

Peace is a form of energy. The Hopi have been holding and maintaining the energy of peace within the circle of their tribe for centuries. This is the task of the Hopi—to preserve within the circle of the Hopi tribe the energy of peace. The Hopi work with the energy of peace (as well as with many other forms of energy) in a disciplined and spiritually humble way. The traditional, religious Hopi are astonishingly telepathic and clairvoyant. Most westerners have no idea how clearly telepathic and clairvoyant the traditional Hopi are. They use these and other skills to work with energy. The Hopi know how.

The Hopi understand and guard the secrets for holding the energy of peace. They are preserving this energy for the new world that is coming. They do this by maintaining this energy within themselves, individually and within the circle of their tribe.

My sense of this is that the time has already come for the energy of peace to be released, to be “communicated” at the unspoken level of energy from one person to the next. Ultimately, when enough people carry this energy within themselves, it will have a calming effect on everyone else, and Mother Earth at last will be at peace.

It all starts with energy. For the energy of peace to go out in all directions and effectively take a firm hold around the world, we as lightworkers first must learn how to hold and contain this energy within ourselves. Holding and containing energy is a spiritual power which can be learned. It is a skill which I have learned and can teach. When each and every person walking on Mother Earth holds within himself or herself the energy of peace, we then will have everlasting peace.

Now is the time to make this happen. It's now or never.

How does one work with energy? It’s done by willingly releasing one's ego to the energy of spirit while at the same time focusing in a disciplined way on transforming this energy into physical reality. This is the “magic” that will create the new world. It is in this way that we are co-creators with the universe—with the very force of life itself. This “magic” starts with letting go and then aligning oneself with this force. From this comes the lightness of spirit that will stop us from destroying ourselves. Lightness of spirit is the power of the lightworker. Lightness of spirit means to soar into spiritual flight, independently and of our own free wills. This is freedom! This lightness lifts us into the state of spiritual enlightenment.

In the new world that is coming, each of us will walk as avatars, as enlightened spiritual masters with the wisdom and knowledge to transform the energy of the spirit into physical form. The two realities of the spirit and of the physical will merge into one. We will see the spirit with our physical eyes. It’s all a matter of enlightened perception.

Enlightenment is readily accessible now to those who are willing to make the effort to go for it. There’s no longer a need to struggle to attain it. It’s right there. A global society living life each day on Mother Earth in a spiritual state of enlightenment will create for itself a shared energy which will uplift our spirits and release us in joy and which, because of the very nature of enlightenment, will create peace within each individual. When we mutually attain enlightenment—and this is where we are headed—we will spontaneously generate lasting world peace. This is the solution.

As lightworkers, we continue to move forward to make this happen. This is, for us now and in this moment, our window in time, our opportunity to create a new world. It is the reason why we have come here.

Knowing and understanding is the key to all that is worth coming. Knowing and understanding will lead us to our own destiny.

The Old Economy, The New Economy
We are experiencing an evolution of the human spirit. The current expression of this is the transformation of the worldwide economy, with the old form melting down and the new still developing into a form of unprecedented balance and equality which I foresee.

We are in the midst of the "labor pains" of this human evolution, and we are accelerating very quickly now towards the birth of a new worldwide economy. It is an evolution of the human spirit that is transforming the old economic structure of "Haves" and "Have Nots" into a developing, new economic structure that will be balanced and equal, an economic structure in which we will be able to feed, clothe and shelter all people with compassion, with joy and with equality for all. The energy to create this new world has been coming in for some time. This energy is with us right now. As this energy works and builds to intensify the extraordinary changes we are witnessing, we are experiencing the pulls and strains on an old economic system which is melting down and fading away because it will not work for the New Humanity on the New Earth. A new economic system is on its way in, but has yet to take form, while the old system fights to hold on. There appears to be so much chaos and confusion because the old and the new are engaged in a tug of war.

The Source Of Creation—The Energy To Awaken Us
Amidst all of this, I am not confused. I remain clear. The energy of change is for me a positive energy, and it is working through me even now. This energy of change emanates from a central source of Creation at the center of our own Milky Way galaxy. Humanity and the Earth will align perfectly with this energy on December 21, 2012. There, at the galactic center, as proven by astrophysicists, is the place where energy transforms itself into matter, where astrophysicists observe the birth of stars; and we are made of the same stuff from which stars are born. (1) All things connect at the level of this energy, and this energy fuels the creation of all that is spiritual and material in our universe.

Although we are not yet perfectly aligned with it, this energy runs through us even now and influences our thoughts and emotions and behavior. This energy is here to awaken us.

Experiencing this energy in every day life is very confusing and bewildering for those who cannot let go of the old ways and cannot feel the fresh, new wave of light coming to them. But this energy, for those who make use of it in a positive way, brings with it an evolutionary uplifting of the human spirit, awakening us to move away from the world of the left-brain intellect, the analytical and the material and to move into the awareness and consciousness of the spirit. We are on the brink of a virtual quantum leap, propelled by this uplifting, evolutionary energy.

Attaining Enlightenment—Our Birthright
For me, by keeping my thoughts positive, the expansiveness I feel from this energy brings me into the light of spirit. It literally enlightens me.

With the assistance of this energy, each one of us now is capable of quickly and easily awakening to the enlightenment of spiritual awareness. This awaits us as the birthright of our generation. Our destiny, for those who make full use of this energy, is to walk upon the Earth together and as enlightened beings. For those who do not understand this energy, they fight to prevent the old forms from disappearing; they cannot even envision the new forms. This is unfortunate because the way to enlightenment is wide open now. It doesn’t require an arduous journey of the soul. For those who feel motivated to go after it, it’s simple and easy to access. As the Dalai Lama said in New York on July 17, 2008, " First you go. Then you go go. Then you go go go. Then you go more. Then you go still more." Until you reach enlightenment. (2)

Some People Are Learning To Awaken; Some Are Not
I am here to teach what I know about this energy. It’s available to all of us. When we all mutually and of our own free will align ourselves with this energy—and free will is the key to this transformation—it will bring us into the light, enabling us to walk together in harmony on planet Earth. We will transform the planet into a Garden Paradise. This is my vision of the New Humanity on the New Earth; but before we reach that plateau of enlightenment, there is a necessary process of learning we must complete for those who seek to awaken to the understanding and awareness of the spirit. Many will come to this awakening soon during this high time of learning, yet others will continue to hang on to the old ways, unwilling to let go of the material things they have accumulated, unwilling to take on new knowledge or take in new energy. The old ways will continue to melt down anyway. There will be news of more home foreclosures and of increased homelessness, of food shortages and starvation, of gasoline shortages and gas rationing, of more lay-offs and more joblessness, of an increase in crime in the cities, of increased hardship and increased suffering for many around the world.

Violence And Anarchy
In certain urban centers worldwide, including in the United States, anger and hatred will boil over. Violence will erupt in the streets and in some places there will be signs of anarchy.

A State Of Positive Thought, Joy And Compassion—The New Humanity On The New Earth
There is a way to calm this turbulence. Amidst all of this negativity and suffering, I remind myself to send positive thoughts to Mother Earth and to all the life she nurtures, to thank Mother Earth for all she gives me each day and to show kindness and compassion whenever I come in contact with someone in need. This gives me a very real power to repel negativity. When I do this, I experience a spiritual richness and fullness which spills over into the daily routines of my life. I experience joy in my heart and clarity in my perception of the people with whom I am interacting, and I feel the force of Creation channeling energetically through my soul. This, I think, is one way to explain what I mean by awakening to spiritual understanding. This very special state of positive thought and joy and compassion always brings good things to me. It has taken me a lifetime to learn it. I am still working to master it. I am doing my best to teach it. Soon, there will be the New Humanity on the New Earth. When it comes, we need to be ready.

My friend, Carlos Barrios, is a Mayan priest. He has asked me to disseminate the following message, which Carlos calls the "Return To Awareness." In his message, Carlos discusses the Mayan ceremonies associated with the upcoming Mayan New Year, which takes place this year on September 4, 2008. However "Return To Awareness" goes beyond the Mayan New Year of 2008, elaborating on a segment of time in the Sacred Mayan Calendar which began on August 9, 2008 and culminates on December 20, 2012.

Here, unedited, are Carlos' words:

RETURN TO AWARENESS
For many years the different Clans, Supporters, Elder Councils and specially the wise visionaries and prophets of the Maya World have sent a series of warnings and messages to humanity, they have been mostly related to this Prophetical Times and their precision has amazed the world since they started having more diffusion in 1987 (the end of a negative cycle) date in which they allowed us to give conferences, interviews and releases, as well as to write about the significant moment we are "living" as humanity and as part of Mother Earth.

The warning of the damage we are making to the environment provoked by contamination of the Air (emission of gases), the poisoning of the water, the climate changes (global warming), the destruction of the forests and jungles, the irrational use of chemicals on the soil (fertilizers, fungicides, weedkillers, etc.), the uncontrolled use of the non-renewable natural resources, the automation of the human being; all of these combined with ineffective economy which is only oriented to materialism (consumerism), the lack of awareness that makes us wander aimlessly, without a guide of the destiny in which we belong as individuals and as humanity (the western society does not have a spirituality that’s real); and all these causes intolerance and unprecedented insanity (wars, religious fundamentalism, exploitation of the human being against our own species).

All of this has brought us to an extremely dangerous point for survival and as a consequence of the unconsciousness and for not living within the natural order we have created the most terrifying result.

The breaking of the Crystal Sphere (ozone layer) and the greenhouse effect are creating a change in the weather and as a result we are suffering from extreme hot climates, longer and hard winters, floods and droughts which are accelerating the deglaciation that will provoke the sea level to rise up to 15 meters making some of the islands disappear.

We predicted (giving exact dates) the worsening of terrorism which brought the attack to the Twin Towers, wars (attack to Iraq) and also the Tsunamis in Asia, the earthquakes and devastating hurricanes. The disaster of the world economy we are suffering, which could become an uncontrolled chaos if we do not do anything to revert it.

We have also warned that the negative energy is affecting specially in Asia and the Mid-East and we are now living the threshold of a confrontation between Pakistan and India and the imminent attack to Iran, as well as the natural phenomena (earthquakes, droughts, and the strength of the water which as an element comes a destructive strength).

We are coming closer to the end of the FOUR AJAW, which is a cycle of 5,200 years that will end on December 20, 2012, and to the beginning of the FIVE AJAW that will start on December 21, 2012, date that has been erroneously diffused as the "end of the world", which is a bad interpretation; it is the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one that will bring the RETURN TO AWARWNESS, meaning it will be a cycle of spiritual development, of having the space to return to the natural order. This cycle brings us the opportunity to find a balance with Mother Earth, harmony between Human Beings, showing the harmonious relationship between the Feminine and Masculine energies, it will be a period of light and wisdom that will bring a new Economical and Social order.

But the prelude of the cycle of the new Human Being is this times that we are now living.

The period that opened on the 9th of August 2008, is a cycle started at 8 Kan which is the manifestation of material energy (it activates the last phase of material energy on Mother Earth and human beings and it will end on December 20-2012) . We are working every day with ceremonies to balance the energies and touch the heart of mother earth; this cycle of work will end on the 4th. of September, the beginning of the Sacred Maya New Year.

The goal of the Ceremonies we are making is to create balance in life, our attention and intention is focused in reestablishing the world’s economy, even as at this moment it is not fair or adequate since it is based on materialism which is the prevailing form and humanity is not yet ready for the new socioeconomic order. The rise in the price of oil and bankruptcy of the banking system is raising the prices of the products which are necessary for survival and creating more poverty, for which we ask you as well to focus your energy and mind power for humanity to return to a balance.

The other point in which we are working is in the cleansing of environment and in creating awareness of a BALANCE with MOTHER EARTH. Now’s the end of the KAJIB AJAW the FOURTH SUN which has WATER as its element, so we have to be aware that this element is showing itself (floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, deglaciation) to call for our attention and if we do not take drastic and urgent measures the water shortage can cause our destruction.

Our attention is also centered in stopping violence and not allowing more violence such as abuse to individuals and masses, not allowing confrontation, intolerance, racism and not allowing more WARS.

This cycle opens a space forgotten by human beings.

THE DIMENSION OF MOTHER EARTH’S HEART
We have to remember that Mother Earth has a heart, the INNER FIRE that’s beating and it’s known by the westerns as Magma it is to the Kak Alom that we should send our prayers, meditations, ceremonies, etc. to find harmony and feel her energy, to send our thought of energy and love, to ask for forgiveness for the harm we have done. When each of us finds awareness and realizes this, we can spread it out and be able to reach the RETURN TO AWARENESS.

8 BATZ is the day of the beginning of the SACRED MAYA NEW YEAR, 4th.of September on the Gregorian Calendar, during this day more than 8,000 Fire Ceremonies will be celebrated in Guatemala all day long.

The photographs above provide several different views of Prophecy Rock, known to the Hopi as the Life Plan. I thank my friend, Hopi Elder, Martin Gashweseoma, for taking me to Prophecy Rock in June 2007 and for giving me permission to photograph it.

The Meaning of Prophecy Rock—The Hopi Life Plan

For centuries, the Hopi have lived in Hopiland, located on three mesas which rise above the desert floor of northern Arizona. With a simplicity characteristic of the Hopi, these mesas are called First Mesa, Second Mesa and Third Mesa. Farming is done on the desert floor surrounding these mesas. The major crops grown are corn, beans and squash.

I visited Hopiland for the first time on a warm, sunny day in early June 2007. I arrived late in the afternoon at the Hopi Cultural Center and Inn, located on Second Mesa. After checking in and getting settled in my room, I walked over to the restaurant for dinner. When I sat down, the waitress handed me the menu. Clearly printed in bold letters near the top of the menu's front page, it said:

Welcome to the

"Center of the Universe"

My journey into Hopiland had begun.

The Hopi and the Village of Old Oraibi
The word Hopi means "peace." It is said among American Indians that the Hopi are "The Keepers of the Peace." The Hopi have held the energy for World Peace within the sacred circle of their tribe for generations. These peaceful people tell us that it is through the seriousness with which the Traditional Hopi practice their annual ceremonies and follow the Universal Plan given to them by the Creator that the Earth is held in balance. Without this, they say, the Earth would spin out of control.

The Traditional Hopi have grown up in a culture that places a high value on the mystical and the spiritual. They are a modest, simple people, and they also are very hospitable. To understand the Traditional Hopi takes not only an understanding of American Indian spirituality but also the ability to connect to the unique spiritual nature and tradition of the Hopi. More importantly, it takes an open heart.

The original village of Oraibi is located on Third Mesa and is the oldest continuously lived-in settlement in North America. Archaeologists date it back to 1100 CE. When the clans of the Hopi ancestors migrated to Oraibi those many centuries ago, they were seeking a destination which, as told to them by the Creator, was "Earth Center." It would be a place where all of the Hopi clans would settle to take care of the land and practice their ceremonies. The place where they settled is now known as Old Oraibi. It's original name was Sip-Oraibi, which, according to my friend, the Hopi Elder, Martin Gashweseoma, means "rock solid; anchored down into the Earth." Prophecy Rock, which is known to the Hopi as the "Life Plan," is located near the village of Old Oraibi.

Prophecy Rock—The Hopi Life Plan

Martin Gashweseoma was born on December 7, 1922. He is one of the last Hopi Elders. When I first arrived in Hopiland, I had no idea where Martin lived or how I would find him. I only knew I needed to meet him. I had traveled to Hopiland on blind faith, following the guidance of my inner voice. Two days after I arrived, I was led to Martin. Meeting him would change me forever.

On the day he and I met, while we were still getting acquainted, Martin took me to see the Hopi Life Plan and gave me permission to take photos—lots of photos. Five of them can be seen above. I was very surprised by this because the Hopi do not allow photos of their sacred sites, especially the Life Plan. They are very clear about this. But Martin not only allowed me to take the photos, he encouraged me. He even went so far as to look around for a kind of stone that had a texture similar to chalk and could be used to make chalk-like marks on the rock. When he found the kind of chalky stone he was looking for, he and I took turns using it to fill in with chalk every line and curve of the ancient inscriptions that had been carved into the rock centuries ago. I was reluctant to do this to something so old and so sacred to the Hopi, but Martin insisted, and by whitening the inscriptions with the chalk in this way we were able to bring out the full detail of every symbol, making the Life Plan stand out as sharply as possible for my camera. That which was ancient looked new again—a symbolic moment. I was not sure if anything like this had ever been done to the Life Plan before. As Martin and I took turns highlighting the inscriptions in this way, I felt that I, a white man, and Martin, an American Indian, were joining forces. Martin wanted to do all he could to ensure my photos would come out sharp and clear. He put a lot of effort into this because it was very important to him. I understood what was going on between us. Without saying it to me directly, Martin was telling me he knew why I had come. He knew I was there to start the work I would need to do to help communicate the Hopi message to the rest of the world. I knew what I was taking on. I had known for a long time. Martin knew too. We didn't discuss it. We just knew. Our friendship began there.

The Hopi say that there have been four "Worlds." Three previous Worlds were destroyed, and we now are living in the Fourth World. The inscriptions of the Life Plan depict the two paths that people would take from the start of the Hopi Fourth World until the Fourth World ends and we transition into the Fifth World.

Martin believes we now are in the midst of this transition. So do I. These inscriptions suggest to me there will be two different ways of living, co-existing side by side, and these two ways will be mutually exclusive. The path we take and the kind of world we live in depends on how we choose to live and what we choose to value the most--materialism and money, or balance with the Earth and a caring for one another.

The top photo, above, shows all of the Life Plan. The other photos below it provide close up views of the different symbols in the Life Plan, starting with the symbols in the lower left and moving toward the upper right.

You will notice in the top photo there are two horizontal lines. These represent the two paths of the Fourth World. The top line represents the path of money, materialism and technology--the modern world—and leads to eventual destruction. The Hopi have a name for this destruction. They call it Purification. Martin speaks often about Purification. He says Purification is just ahead. He and I have discussed this. I foresee much of what he foresees, I understand what he says, and I plan to write about it in a future article I'll post here.

The bottom line represents the natural path—staying in balance with the earth, caring for one another and following the laws of the Creator. This path leads to happiness and everlasting life, as signified by the symbol of corn, the old person with the cane and the line extending all the way around the right side of the rock. There also are three circles drawn on the bottom line. The first two of these circles, according to some Hopi, represent World War I and World War II. The third circle represents Purification—World War III.

Martin says there will be "Purification and then the New Land and everlasting life for the survivors." "That's where we're headed," he says. The "survivors" are those who have chosen the natural path and who ultimately create a world in balance with the Earth. This will be the Fifth World, the new world which I know is coming. It will bring another side to life which most people cannot even comprehend right now. We will create the new world by mutually and of our own free wills raising our spiritual consciousness to become enlightened beings. This will bring us to everlasting life.

Martin also told me that the first three of the four figures on the top line represent the enemies of the Traditional Hopi, including the government that Martin says "controls us" and those Hopi leaders (and, I presume, Hopi people) who have adopted the material ways of the white man. The vertical line under the third of these three figures connects the top line to the bottom line, and it represents the last chance for all who have strayed away and are on the path of materialism to get back on the natural path. (I interpret this also to mean it represents the last chance for all of us in the modern world to get back on the natural path.) According to other Hopis I spoke with, the fourth figure was added later. Martin explained to me the fourth figure represents "the one-hearted man" who will come and try to convince the government and the Hopi leaders (and I presume many others in the world) who have strayed to get back on the natural path. The jagged line to the right of the one-hearted man, Martin says, represents the energy that "is his protection." Martin also says the inscription foretells that the one-hearted man will fail.

Other Hopis I spoke with informed me that originally the first three figures were headless, indicating these figures would be enemies of the Traditional Hopi, and that the fate of these enemies would be death. The heads were added later to satisfy the "expectations of outsiders."

It is the second path, the natural path, which will lead us to evolve into what I have been calling "The New Humanity on the New Earth." I have dedicated this Blog to that goal.

With all the trouble and turmoil in the world now, it seems to me we have lost our way. I like to think we are on the threshold of forming another counter-culture reminiscent of the 60s. Maybe we are. A worldwide shift in thought and attitude would help. I sense something is emerging. It just needs a little more coaxing to bring it to the surface. Perhaps some of us are ready--maybe we've been ready for a long time--to get back on the natural path. I know the Hopi can help us with this.

The natural path is the path of spiritual understanding, and the spiritual understanding of the Hopi is ancient and sacred. It is woven into the fabric of Hopi culture. Their spiritual understanding is a gift the Hopi can give us, and along with this understanding, the Hopi can give us the spiritual nourishment and direction we so need to help us find our way again. These are gifts which could benefit us greatly, but only if we choose to receive them in a way that shows respect for their sacredness. Sacred gifts are not meant to be taken without asking. If we wish for the Hopi to share their gifts with us, we must learn how to approach the Hopi in a good way, in a spiritual way, in the American Indian way.

The Hopi know how to keep the world in balance, and they do so through physical work and by working with energy. They have been doing it this way for generations.

Martin's Field
It is said that as soon as you cross into Hopiland, you walk into another dimension. I am here to confirm that this is true. A few days after I met Martin, I offered to work with him to help him clear his field for planting. I had been working with Martin in his field for an hour or so when the wind suddenly picked up and started blowing hard in my face. (I later learned the wind speed had at that time jumped up to 50 or 60 miles per hour. The winds continued like that for the rest of the day.) I reacted by turning and facing away from the wind. Then for just a second or two, I looked back. Again the wind was blowing in my face. I glanced at Martin. He was still working the ground with his hoe. As I glanced at him a feeling of peace and openness came over me. Once again I turned my back to the wind, and as I looked out beyond Martin's field, "out yonder," as Martin would say, across the floor of the northern Arizona desert, I felt myself unexpectedly pulled into a field of energy which I can only describe as the energy of creation. The energy took me in. I was immersed in it, like being inside of a living cell. All at once I felt merged with the source of everything, yet at the same time I felt my own individuality and with it my own power to initiate and create changes in the world around me, to manifest a thought into a reality, to create whatever I focused my atttention on, even to help create a new world. In that first moment when I felt myself pulled into the field of energy, I felt that the energy of creation and I had merged together, making the energy and me as one; then an instant later I felt my own individuality standing outside of the field of energy as I looked directly at it. Then, in yet another instant, I felt myself pulled once again into the field of energy and felt once more that the energy and I had become one. For a brief period of time, I don't how long, this experience continued, alternating, pulsing back and forth, as I felt myself merging with the heartbeat of creation, moving into the field of energy, then slipping out of it and then back into it again. The field of energy and I were separate, and yet the field of energy and I were also one. This paradox made sense to me. I understoood it.

It was for me an intensely spiritual experience. I had been embraced by the very force of creation itself, the same force that I know transforms pure energy into material things. This force exists all over the universe. Some people call it God. The Traditional Hopi people call it "Creator."

In that moment, I became a changed man. I had been opened to receive the light of spirit.

Physicists tell us that everything is energy. The Hopi have known this truth for millennia (and I will have more to say about that in a moment). My experience in Martin's field is proof enough for me that the energy of creation is real. Furthermore, I saw and felt that our human spirits derive their own life energy from this source. We truly are all part of a greater whole. There is more than meets the eye. I believe we human beings are meant to be caretakers of this Earth, and I believe we would not have been given this responsibility without also being given the mental and spiritual power to fashion and nurture a peaceful, beautiful planet. We have this power, but we seem to have lost the knack for using it. I have only recently begun to discover, in part because of this visit and a second visit to Hopiland, how to work and shape and mold reality with this energy. My contact with the Hopi has awakened something in me. I won't go into all the details here, but I have come to understand how this energy gives us the ability to transform things, to turn a thought into a reality, to project outward from our being a positive mood and a feeling and an atmosphere to others all around us and, yes, even to create a future world of "happiness and everlasting life" as predicted in the Hopi Life Plan. Once we have learned how to work with this energy, our new world, I think, will become a blend of the physical and the spiritual, and I believe we will find ourselves one day able to shift back and forth between the two, between the physical and the spiritual, just as I did for a brief moment in Martin's field.

We look outside and we see the world is in trouble. Big trouble. Our world is in a tug of war between that which is ending and that which is coming. It's a very exhilarating time to be alive on the Earth, and dangerous too. The challenges are great. The solution is simple. To be sure, a new world is coming, lighter, brighter and filled with joy, but we need to get ourselves ready for it. Before anything else, I think our preparation will require a shift in the way we live day to day and in the way we perceive ourselves and our world--a shift of thought and attitude back to feeling and caring and connecting again in the simple way that we all know is human. That simplicity creates good energy, and we need to have that good energy to work with. From there we can take the next step to advance in wisdom and tap into the magic of how to forge a new world for ourselves.

Martin, in his own brand of English, said, "The people are wrongdoing. They won't listen. They are wrongdoing," and then he said there are two rules by which we should live our lives. First, express gratitude and "sing praises to the Creator" each day for all we have. Second, be caring of all other people, not just ourselves and our immediate families, but everyone. I know many of us already do this. We don't need to be told to be thankful and to be caring of everyone. But many others have lost sight of this, and that has created a dangerous imbalance for all of us.

"The Hopi elders look with awe as the predictions of Maasaw [The Guardian Spirit of the Earth] and our prophets continue to unfold before their eyes. The fast life, the changes in attitudes and behavior of the world's people, contesting for power, boastfulness in know-how, increased immorality and materialism. The world's people do not realize these actions gradually diminish the life resources by opposing the laws of nature with our own designs. Clever as Man is, he did not see that his actions set nature in motion toward disastrous consequences."

"According to our ancient prophecies, one day as we walk along our path we will arrive at a point of confusion because of the fast life resulting from the change from good to bad in our moral principles. Just as in our previous worlds, the lives of people and the leaders will become corrupted by greed and power. Honesty and truthfulness will wane."

"Maasaw [said]: 'I only have my planting stick and my seeds. If you are willing to live here as I do, you may come and live here with me. Then you will have fruitful lives. There will come a time when you will come to two paths. Seek your wisdom for directions to lasting peace or the destiny of fate.' According to the Hopi, the path of nature, the natural path, is the path the Hopi were given instructions to follow by the Creator. It is the path whereby human beings work and maintain the Earth so that human beings can continue to live on it. The Hopi have their prayers, their ceremonies and their dances. But all of the rest of it is work to maintain the land.

The Kachinas
One Hopi man I spoke with gave me this comparison. He said that just as scientists in the western world work with the Periodic Table of the Elements and with concepts such as atomic weights and atomic numbers, the Hopi work with energy. They grow up learning how to work with the forces of nature. Western scientists tell us there are just over one hundred elements in the Periodic Table. The Hopi tell us there are about four hundred forces in nature. These forces are separate, distinct and conscious fields of energy, and the Hopi have a name for them. The Hopi call them Kachinas. Each Kachina is a spirit with power over a different aspect of the Earth, from thunder to lightening to wind to specific plants and animals. The Kachinas are spirits with which the Hopi have worked for millennia, and the Hopi are as adept at working with these spirits, these forces of nature, as westerners are at working with combining atoms and molecules into the metal alloys, plastics, fuels, pharmaceuticals and other products we produce to meet our needs. The Hopi are reluctant to talk about how they work with the forces of nature. For them it is a sacred way of life, passed down by word of mouth from generation to generation, which they have kept secret. But I sense some Hopi now may believe the time has come for them to go so far as to reveal their secrets to those who are ready. Their prophecies have told them the time for this would arrive. Perhaps the time is now. I believe it is through an understanding of these secrets that the Hopi, as well as those of us in the modern world who want to follow the natural path, will help create the new world that is coming, the Fifth World of the Hopi, The New Humanity on the New Earth.

The Hopi are a humble, modest people, and keeping the world in balance is a task which requires their humility, or it will not succeed; and if the Hopi fail, the Earth may not survive. It is important that the Hopi culture is not only preserved, but also revitalized. There is much we in mainstream America and in other technologically advanced countries can learn from these simple, humble people of peace. Our survival as a species may depend on it.
